Who writes these picks
FiberCroft is written and maintained by its editorial team. We publish under the FiberCroft name rather than a personal byline, because our rankings come from documented research rather than one person's hands-on experience. Where a specification, measurement, or figure appears in a guide, it comes from the manufacturer or a cited source, not from our own bench.
What we score on
Every pick is judged on the same criteria. We weight them by what actually matters for the way you will use the gear, then write up the tradeoffs honestly.
Join and tip quality
For interchangeable sets and fixed needles, we weigh join design, published tip taper, and the snag complaints that recur in owner reports on fine-gauge yarn. A snag-prone join fails regardless of price.
